In today’s world, technology evolves in an unstoppable speed. A few years ago we didn’t even dreamed about high definition monitors and TV’s and nowadays even smartphones pack a full HD resolution display.
The High-Definition Multimedia Interface cable, widely known as HDMI, is a compact audio and/or video interface that transfers uncompressed video and compressed/uncompressed audio to a compatible monitor, TV, display, etc.
Why would I buy a HDMI Ethernet Cable over a regular HDMI ?
If you’re just looking to watch HD content in your TV and you don’t need a connection to the internet in your content devices then a regular cable should do the trick for you. But if you’re looking for a cable that consolidates HD video, audio, and data in a single cable, then your best choice is the HDMI Ethernet cable, it’s capable of achieving transfer speeds up to 100Mb/sec, if you’re not a very geeky person and you’d like a more simple explanation, let me show you an image:
This first image shows you how you connect your devices to the internet using regular HDMI and regular ethernet cables.
This second image shows you how you connect your devices to the internet using a HDMI Ethernet cable. Notice the difference? You’re just using one cable for each device and not two like the example above. This will save you time, money, and it will look significantly better since you need half the cables you needed before.
- Cheaper than buying a regular HDMI + regular ethernet cable.
- Better looking.
- More convinient.
- Less error margin.
- None so far!
If you need a new HDMI cable, I’ll advice you to buy the ones with Ethernet support since their cost is similar to a regular HDMI cable and you will have all the advantages that an HDMI ethernet cable can offer, you can find them on Amazon for a really cheap price.
